KrisFlyer released discounted October awards, Qatar eased an Avios booking rule, and Virgin added partner reward seats to its search calendar. Here is the news from 14–20 September 2026.
KrisFlyer discounted selected October award flights
Australian Frequent Flyer reported on 17 September that Singapore Airlines had released its September Spontaneous Escapes list. Singapore Airlines' offer gave 30% off selected Saver award flights booked by 30 September for travel from 1 to 31 October 2026. Bookings close on 30 September.
For an Australian example, the airline listed Cairns to Singapore on SQ204 at 20,300 KrisFlyer miles in Economy or 50,400 miles in Business, one way after the discount, plus taxes. Blackout dates applied, and seats were limited. Those prices covered specific flights, not every service between the cities. The useful check was the flight number and travel date before transferring points.
Qatar eased one Avios booking condition
Point Hacks reported on 15 September that Qatar Airways had removed a prior activity condition for creating a Privilege Club My List. Members no longer had to first earn Avios from a Qatar or partner flight, or convert points from a co-branded Qatar card. Qatar Airways' My List terms still require the account to be at least 30 days old.
A My List owner can nominate up to four adult Privilege Club members for award bookings. Each person can belong to only one My List, and a new addition stays on the list for at least six months. The change removed one hurdle for booking with Avios for someone else, but the list rules still need checking before an award booking.
Virgin's search calendar showed partner reward seats
Point Hacks reported on 14 September that Virgin Australia's flight-search calendar had started showing partner-airline Velocity Reward Seat availability. Virgin had announced the calendar in April and said partner flights would be added later. The September report concerned that addition, not the original launch.
The calendar let members compare dates on a route before opening each result. Point Hacks noted that it could not filter by passenger count or operating airline. It could narrow a search, but a marked date was not proof that enough seats on a preferred airline were available for a booking.
