This week brought two Velocity promotions: an extra bonus for eligible new card applications and a short double Status Credits booking window.
Velocity opened an extra credit-card points offer
On 15 June, Velocity opened activation for an extra bonus on selected partner credit cards. The dated offer terms preserved by OzBargain set two tiers:
- 20,000 extra Velocity Points for a member who had not earned Velocity Points from a Velocity-earning credit card, or transferred card reward points to Velocity, in the 12 months before activation.
- 10,000 extra Velocity Points for a member who had done either of those things in that period.
These were extra promotional points, on top of a participating card's own sign-up bonus. A member had to activate the Velocity offer before applying, use the offer page's card link, and apply between 15 June and 31 July 2026. Approval and the card's own spend, retention and eligibility rules still applied. The dated OzBargain discussion also records members activating the offer on 15 June.
Applications close on 31 July 2026. Check Velocity's offer page and the participating card's terms before applying.
Velocity offered double Status Credits for a short travel window
On 17 June, Velocity opened a separate double Status Credits offer. Members had to activate it and book an eligible flight from 17 to 30 June 2026, then fly from 17 June to 12 July 2026. Eligible flights were Virgin Australia marketed and operated domestic, trans-Tasman or international short-haul services in a fare class that normally earned Status Credits. Corporate Traveller's copy of the promotion terms preserves those dates and conditions.
This increased Status Credits, which count toward Velocity status. It did not double the points earned from the flight. Bookings close on 30 June, with eligible travel ending on 12 July. The narrow travel period made the offer most relevant to members who already needed an eligible flight then.
