A beer lover’s dream! 🍻 Aka Anthony’s favorite activity. If you’re in Salzburg and want something that feels truly local, this is it. I’m not even a huge beer drinker and thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. HISTORY @augustinerbraeu_salzburg has been brewing beer since 1621 and it still feels like stepping into living history. Wooden barrels. Stone steins. Long communal tables filled with locals and tourists. THE EXPERIENCE It’s Austria’s largest beer tavern, but somehow still feels warm and traditional. You grab your beer straight from the barrel, then wander through the market-style hallway picking up regional dishes from different food stands. GETTING THERE We loved that it’s just outside of the busiest part of town, you can hop on a bus and be there in under 10 minutes, and they run super frequently. So easy.
