[ MUST TRY ] This Japanese Cafe Might Have the Best Chazuke and Matcha Bagels in Queensland 🍵
There’s a Japanese cafe in Springwood quietly blowing up online and it’s honestly one of the most unique menus we’ve seen. Eight Ounce Cafe is serving a line-up of matcha bagels, crispy katsu sandos and traditional Japanese chazuke that feels like the culinary equivalent of a warm hug.
The chazuke is the real moment here. Each bowl arrives with perfectly cooked rice, your choice of protein and a steaming dashi broth poured from the cutest teapots you’ve ever seen. The aburi salmon chazuke is buttery and rich, the unagi is smoky and silky, and the toriniku chicken version is pure comfort food done the Japanese way. It’s light, delicate and somehow still hits every craving at once.
But if you’re a matcha lover… prepare for obsession. The smoked salmon matcha bagel is a whole event. The Tori Katsu Sando is crisp, golden and unbelievably satisfying. And the pistachio Basque cheesecake might just be one of the best things we’ve eaten this month.
The drinks are just as impressive. We’re talking a pistachio matcha latte that tastes like your new personality trait, a strawberry matcha latte that’s basically joy in a cup, plus the Mont Blanc and Desert Mirage for anyone who loves trying something a little extra.
