Some of the best views of Lake Willoughby, flanked by impressive vertical rocky cliffs on both sides, are experienced from the overlooks on the nearby ⛰️ Mount Pisgah hiking trail! 📌Save this as a reminder to make this stunning place a priority on your next trip to Vermont! 👇 Here are the deets: 🏷 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: “Mount Pisgah Trail” (we did the South Trail, but you can also start at the North Trail as they connect) 📍 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Orleans, Vermont 📏 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: ~4.5 miles out and back 📈 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧: ~1,650 ft 🚗 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: 10-12 spots at the official trailhead, more parking across the road, where there are also toilets. 💡 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬: 🥱 Start early. We started hiking right after catching sunrise on the North Beach of Lake Willoughby (highly recommend!). We had the overlooks to ourselves at the top to ourselves for a long time, but there were a ton of people coming up the trail when we were descending around 10am. ❗️ Don’t miss the North lookout 🤩! If you’re using AllTrails, there is a second “North Lookout” beyond the “end” of the trail (the connection to the North Trail) that also has great views. 👋 If you’re new here, welcome!
