Open in Google Maps ↗Hike details ⬇️ (Save for later) 📍Kauaeranga Kauri Trail (The Pinnacles Walk), Coromandel Forest Park 🌿 This hike can be completed as a day hike or an overnight walk staying at the hut or campsite. 🥾 The hike starts at the end of Kauaeranga Valley Rd and is approx 7km one way to the summit. ⏳️ Approx 7hrs return. It usually takes 2.5-3hrs to the hut, plus another 45 minutes to the Pinnacles Summit. ⛰️ Total elevation gain is approx 780m. 🛖 The hut needs to be booked in advance on the DoC website. It costs $35pp Fri/Sat and $25pp Sun-Thurs. This hut is one of the fanciest in NZ with double glazing, solar lighting, cookers & BBQ, UV treated water and even a (cold) shower. ⛺️ The campsite has 4 spaces and costs $12.5pp ⚠️ Remember to do your own research before attempting this hike.
