I went to this spot in Nakameguro called T Nakameguro. It’s got this lowkey 1920s speakeasy vibe, and apparently it’s one of the top steakhouses in Japan right now. They serve A5 Omi beef—which is already hard to find—but the wild part is, they do it as a T-bone steak. That used to be illegal in Japan, so they’re the only restaurant in the world doing it this way.
I got their T Course—it’s ¥20,000 and includes 12 dishes, most of them using Omi beef in different ways. Curry, roast beef sandwich, and of course, the steak—cut and grilled right in front of you.
Honestly, if you’re looking for a really unique wagyu experience in Tokyo and you’re okay splurging a bit, this one stood out. Just make sure to book early—they fill up months ahead.
