Top 3 Afternoon Teas in London
I flew to London to have afternoon tea every day and here are my top 3.
One thing to know about the afternoon teas in London is that almost all are unlimited. This means unlimited tea, unlimited tea sandwiches, scones, and sweets.
Let’s start with my number 3, The Ritz London. The Ritz London is by far the fanciest and the most formal afternoon tea I’ve ever been to.
The afternoon tea here is around $110 per person. They have a piano player and the whole experience feels very posh. I loved this tea service and the only thing I didn’t like was the seating arrangement. My table of 2 faced the main lobby walkway of the hotel so it felt like we were eating on a stage, facing the audience. The tea and the food were all delicious and the portion sizes were great.
Number 2 is Sketch. This was the most unique and prettiest afternoon tea. The interior is gorgeous. The afternoon tea is around $114 per person. There’s a live string trio that plays during tea service.
The tea sandwiches were delicious with the bread so pillowy soft. The scones were a little bit of a letdown since I found them to be dry. They do have a time limit of 2 hours so they will ask you to leave when you’ve reached your limit.
My number 1 afternoon tea in London is Fortnum and Mason. Afternoon tea is around $110, the same as The Ritz London.
Everything from the tea sandwiches, to the scones, to the sweets were excellent. But the reason this tops my list is the clotted cream. I couldn’t get over how good the clotted cream was. It really blew my mind. Out of all the other clotted creams I had everywhere else, Fortnum and Mason’s was absolutely the best.
I’ll definitely be going back to Fortnum and Mason the next time I’m in London.
