I’ve started more side projects than I can count, and almost none of them have a paper trail. The thinking, the dead ends, the “oh that’s why” moments — they all evaporate the moment I close the laptop. This site is my attempt to fix that.

What this is

craigsaves.com is my personal home on the internet. Not a product, not a deals feed — just me, writing about the things I build. Mostly that means money-saving tools and the side projects I can’t stop tinkering with.

I’m going to build in public here. That means writing while the work is still messy, not after it’s been sanded into a tidy case study. Expect:

• What I’m building right now — and the decisions behind it
• What broke — the bugs, the bad calls, the rewrites
• What I learned — so future-me (and maybe you) doesn’t repeat it

Why bother

Two reasons. First, writing forces me to actually understand what I did instead of cargo-culting my way forward. Second, the projects I’ve followed most closely are the ones where someone showed their work. I’d like to be that for someone else.
